Eurozone

Today there are fifteen EU countries that have changed their money and started to use the euro. This happened on the 1st January 2002, which is just over four years ago. The euro is not a very old currency, but it is a very popular one!

The fifteen countries that use the euro are often called the ‘euro zone’ or the ‘euro area’. This is a list of all the countries where the euro is the national currency. You may also see the flags of each country, so you will be able to recognise them during your geography lessons!
